that fits your needs. Many diabetics needlessly worry about
constant testing that is inconvenient, painful, and costs too much of
their hard-earned money doing it the old way. Now there are plenty of
different types of glucose meters on the market that will fit anyone's
needs easily.
Finding a blood glucose meter is often time-consuming and frustrating.
Finding a great deal on one is even more difficult if you don't know
where to look and don't research your options fully. Some meters
require special coding that can be confusing, while others do away with
all coding to make them easier to understand. Many newers meters are
also less painful than older models, and can be used on more places
than just your fingers.
Some popular brands include: the Lifescan One-Touch, the Bayer Contour
& Bayer Ascensia, the FreeStyle Freedom, AccuChek, Abbott
Labratories, and many other glucose meter makers. |

ACCU-CHEK Blood Glucose Meter
By Katherine P. King - This meter is too small, the print is
too small, the screen is unlighted and hard to read for persons with
eye problems. Choose another meter.
By HENRY LOSADA - I am happy with the service provided , I received the
glucose meter in no time, and unfortunately, I am out of the country
for the time been, I could not get my free unit from the SS, and this
are some what expensive but have to have item.
By D. L. Kandela (Kuwait) - I would say this is probably the
best unit I have come across. Its easy to setup and use.
Delivery was on time and in perfect condition. Setup took less than a
minute in fact by the second minute we already were done with the first
test.
The memory function/feature comes in handy in monitoring both our test
results.
By C. Carney - My wife was just diagnosed. This purchase was
OK but: 1. You get only the meter; 2. You will need to buy the lancet
device separately; 3. You will need to buy control liquid separately;
4. None of my three computers have IR input; how about Bluetooth??
Where do I get an IR input? I am still looking.; 5. There is no
software included nor available that I can find to buy. (I finally
downloaded freeware from CNET); 6. I did buy extra strips and inserts
for the lancet device. That was suggested on the amazon site. Amazon
could do a lot better identifying clearly what you need extra when you
buy this.
By
CFH "chillnhill" (Blue Ridge Summit, PA USA) - I have used the
Ascensia Contour Monitoring System for about one year
now. This is by far the easiest and one of the fastest blood sugar
monitors I have seen. Here are my observations:
* Requires very little blood
* Fast readings, 5 seconds
* BIG numbers on display
* Inexpensive test strips (when bought through Amazon), see Ascensia
Contour Test Strips Box of 100
* Accurate (I have tested against my doctor's meter)
This unit does exactly what I need it to do and is fairly inexpensive
(I even bought a second one to keep at work).
